Introduction to Kutani ware

"Kutani ware" is a representative of Japanese painted ceramics, originating from Minamikaga in southern Ishikawa Prefecture, and is widely recognized as the pinnacle of painted ceramics.

At the same time, it has kept pace with the times and is loved both in Japan and around the world. In recent years, Kutani ware has also utilized its unique colors...

Collaborations with different characters for sale have made it quite popular. This time, we'll introduce the characteristics and history of Kutani ware.

Even the manufacturing process and selection methods will be explained. The name Kutani ware comes from Kutani Village, Enuma District, Kaga Province.

It is said that it was originally made deep in the Yamanaka Onsen (hot springs) in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture. It uses a Japanese -style brocade known as Kutani Gosai ( green, yellow, red, purple, and indigo ).

Hard pigments, used for "top painting," are characterized by their bright and vivid colors.
